Hypothesis
In this project I believe that if the plants have a moderate amount of caffeine, they will grow better, faster and stay up longer. However, I think that if the plants have too much caffeine, they may stop growing, or possibly die just like how if humans have too much caffeine it could cause them to have insomnia and some other side effects. I hypothesize that if the amount of caffeine that a plant is being watered with is about the amount in a 12oz. bottle of Coca-Cola Cherry, then the plant will grow the better and healthier. There are several reasons behind this hypothesis. I did my research and read how too much caffeine can actually hurt or stunt a person’s growth and health; therefore, I think that it could also do this to plants in similar ways. I believe that if the plants have too much caffeine they could actually be in danger. Also, because it’s only healthy for one person to have a 12 oz. bottle of soda per week, the plants should only use one bottle per week or less as well. If the plant only has a little bit of caffeine I believe that it wouldn't affect the growth at all or that it could just affect the plants as if they were being watered with regular tap water.
